The Youth Utilizing Power and Praise

is dedicated to enhancing the confidence and leadership skills of young people of color. The organization’s performing and fine arts, public speaking and sports programs are designed to prevent risk factors that could lead to substance abuse. By fostering a supportive environment, this organization is helping young people reach their full potential and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

The San Diego Refugee Communities Coalition

provides a safe and supportive environment for young refugees and immigrants in San Diego County. Through culturally and linguistically sensitive substance use disorder prevention, education and early intervention services, the Coalition strives to reduce substance use and empower youth.

Black Students of California United

is providing safe spaces, support and culturally responsive programming to advance restorative justice policies in schools. Through their Black Male Initiative program, youth leaders engage with California officials to discuss the lived experiences of Black youth and the need for academic support.
